All Over Me

they don't leave a stone unturned, they're burning books and leaves
if you teach a man to understand, he'll rise up off his knees
they would rather rest on laurels, plans that led our elders when
television was revolution, and not some mindless end
the most sinister of monsters disguise themselves in suits
pay attention to their smiles while they take whats left of you
full of anger, we're not wiser, our rebellion's quickly quelled
think we chose our clothes and music? well...

Dance to the Moon
03:48
|
|||
a lovely girl walked by with her eyes on the ground and her face shrouded by a pitiful frown
a disgrace that a picture painted so gray would hold such a colorful, beautiful face
her heart is broken, tears stream down her face
it seems forever but little does she know she’ll never be the same
she sees life through eyes of sadness
expects nothing but this madness
she sees love and thinks she’s missed it
even in dreams, she ain’t been kissed yet
she’s wearing her dancing shoes
they have never been used
maybe she’s waiting on a man to come thru
sweep her up and dance to the moon, dance to the moon
pick up your feet and swing with me
we’re gonna dance to the moon, my dear
you’ve got the moves to break your blues
they’re waiting in your heart, my dear
reach out your hands and release your fears
find your joy
pick up your feet, let’s dance to the moon
there’s a boy drowning in his misery, doesn’t wanna feel
he don’t know happiness, doesn't think its real
now he’s sulking in the corner of the bar for days, washing down his sorrows and wishing for grace
and just when he looked up to pray, that lovely girl walked in, shone light his way
there’s a stir within his madness
a chance to part with all his sadness
a dance to wash his cares away
enchanted songs of warmer days
he sees she’s got her dancing shoes
and that they have never been used
he hears music – dancing blues
he swept her up to dance to the moon, dance to the moon

Hotel Floor
04:05
|
|||
so you found me on the floor of a hotel
I was so vulnerable
on the floor of the hotel, thats where I lay
I don't know if you realized that I was there
I don't know if you cared
its like I'm living in a fairy tale
and I'm flying above the clouds
just like I knew I would
its a heroin dream, oh baby
its a wonderful time for you and me
and I'm laying on the floor of the hotel
and you walk in
I saw you stumblin'
you treated yourself to a speedball
and then you vomited in the hall
I sat there through it all
and I'm crying my eyes out
I think I lost you forever but I know its not true
I think I lost you forever
but I still love you

Idle American
03:37
|
|||
a sunny day it seems to wait for everyone
but it some days, our luck is made if its to come
for when its done and life's become a dying flame
we sons and daughters look to fathers of today
for answers...
you promised gold, trips to the coast and level heads
I've always felt these to be promises unkept
but you led blindly into darkness nonetheless
and very well may have gone and left us all for dead
oh, if we ever look back
we will succumb to attack
rife with distraction and bliss
where is the error in this?
what is this? and why do I care?
all I feeling blowing is hot air
a phantom host? apparition? ghost?
are we chasing shadows up the stairs?
its so hard to look so far into the future, the unknown
so I say oh oh oh oh....
is this the way of the earth?
scared of the strength to endure?

Lost Highway
01:52
|
|||
I've been staring through a version of you
dazed haze, cold gold stare
I gave myself time to think
and fell into an "I don't care"
shadows line the road
its too late to avoid it now
solution in my hand
all jammed up with sand
my skin is cracked and dry
I drive nowhere
...but why?

Lemonade Breeze

sit and wait relax
today is dull no dew
doubt I do a fool
made quick plans with you
slow and then its cool
fingers on the back of my neck
this time we fold back
settling floor and chair
same story draw in again
two we be alone
babies breath a feline touch
make me feel at home
regular joe working hard
super sonic ice cold glass
electric hand lightning foot
think Ill take another drink

Home Park Hullabaloo
04:03
|
|||
I know a little place to find a nickel and dime
where me and my friends we always have a good time
all kinds of pickins, defenseless young things
heading home for the night, its a happening scene
And I'm prowling the streets of your neighborhood
wearing my hoody so that I blend in real good
gimme your laptop, wallet and phone
just take it easy, no cops gonna show!
'cuz its a Home Park hullabaloo (bah ba-ba-da, ba ba bah)
its a Home Park hullabaloo (bah ba-ba-da, ba ba bah)
its a Home Park hullabaloo
if ya ask me, man, I was there too
now the undercover crew's gotta eye on you!
I'm back in vine city, yes of course I got away
you say I'm one of a million, we all look the same
but meanwhile on campus, its jump street 21
the undercover cops have a whole lotta fun
but I'll say this for Home Park, they always do it right
1, 2, 3, 4 kegs of natty lite
so let's hear it for Home Park, its a mighty fine place
to cruise to a party with a case of beer and full can of mace (2-3-4)
oh, walking thru the wilderness so late at night
right there in the middle of midtown
the streets are dark but night's alive
under the haze of the moonlight
I may not get to sleep tonight at all

Altered States
06:21
|
|||
I'd been where the beautiful people go to get ugly
now standing in my path before me was a black cat
the room was red and the food it got me thinking
well maybe these thoughts of leaving ain't so bad
I'm leaving by choice, no poor soul but mine is forcing me
I wanna make a change and this here's the way that I know how
but ohhhh, my sweet district
I'm crossing county lines and counting every sign
just trying to keep my mind off leaving this town
its more than a question of should I remain or meander
its a matter of whether i'm better off where I'm going
but I'd rather swing away and shoot for the moon than sit here fading in the waiting room
my eyes are getting heavy but my heart's ready for the great unknown
so I'm leaving at 930 from this rock n roll hotel
emerging from the cellar while my feet they dance a crooked beat
if hearts are such simple machines, why do I feel hurt in everything?
I better saddle up and love it, cuz theres no option in defeat
what a capital idea!

Unplanned Peachtrees
03:40
|
|||
I can't believe it bore fruition
they had warned of my perdition
a yankee kid in King's court
for I've been loyal to an idle nation
where wisdom, justice, moderation
may as well be out the door
Georgia, you were an old sweet song coming from my mouth
now a stale token of the gallant south
and just perhaps, too much looking back as time goes past us all
so I saunter through a southern town
pilled to the gills and wandering 'round
strange fruit hangin' from the trees
I'm asking now, won't somebody come buy my sins
its a heavy weight and I'm wearin' thin
I might fly away with the breeze

This Isn't Me
04:32
|
|||
do I remind you of your dad yet?
was it all about the money?
what did you say to me last night?
my photo picture took your crazy, lazy, amazing light
put all your memories in a mirror ball
your skeletal picture frames burnt up
in kodachrome ashes created
I made up fixtures in my mind
|
||||
11. |
||||
yea I think you're heaven sent (my hearts aflame)
but you ain't been seen since (so many days)
we danced our nights away that weekend some time ago
I want a little bit more of your skin
I want a little bit more of your scent
I want a little bit more of the song that you sang
under the stars back then
I looked you up when I got in late at night (my mind on you)
something 'bout you just feels so right (can this be true?)
but you see, I'm a fool, for I left you in the street with no goodnight
I believe you've disappeared
I still feel you somewhere out there
when we met 'neath the canopy of the twilight sky
finally found you and it got me so high

Nada Nada
03:05
|

little man with young heart running wild
hard to go when they treat you like a child
yesterday seemed so very far away
but then it came and went, and here we are today
brother, please with those spines in your heart
a new lease on this life wouldn't hurt
yes, its true, what you been through you don't deserve
but you're a better man for those lessons learned
autumn leaves made us long for days of old
and winter wonders could often leave us in the cold
on the night we were as sprites to rites of spring
everyone seemed overcome by the whole thing
you and I would laugh and cry in summer streets
we needed more than swimming holes to beat the heat
we didnt know it was true what they say
nothing gold ever stays, all thats good goes away
in time. goodbye.

Champagne Room Atlanta, Georgia
Champagne Room is a band from Atlanta, Georgia.
